BOH Tea Centre

Located on a hilltop, amidst rows of tea bushes and in close proximity to Gunung Brinchang, the BOH Tea Centre houses a tea refreshment area (Tea'ria), a souvenir and a tea shop as well as an exhibition area featuring information about the tea manufacturing process, benefits of tea and the history of BOH Plantations dating back to 1929.
"BOH Plantations was founded in 1929 by J.A. Russel, a British businessman during the British colonial era in Malaya. He was optimistic of the tea plantation business due to huge demands despite of the world-wide Great Depression at that time. As a result of the potential, he applied for and was granted a concession of land for his first tea garden in Habu, Cameron Highlands.
Today, BOH Plantations owns three tea gardens - the first garden in Habu, Fairlie Tea Garden and Sungai Palas Tea Garden. To ensure the freshness of its tea products, BOH Plantations also set up a packaging factory near its main garden. BOH tea products are distributed both in domestic and international markets.
The current slogan of BOH tea products is "BOH ada Ummph!" (BOH puts the Ummph!)"
BOH Tea Plantation is a must-visit place when you are in Cameron Highlands with its scenic, tranquil and awesomely cool fresh air! Boh Tea Plantation has a total of 8000 acres planted with tea and it is the largest tea plantation in Southeast Asia.

It was a random visit to Cameron Highlands for me and my family last year end and we decided to pamper ourselves before checking in into our hotel with a nice cup of tea, cakes and enjoy the enchanting ambience and the view of the BOH TEA Plantation at BOH Tea Shop, the perfect time and place to have tea with ze family.

Can you see the balcony hanging in the middle of the air at the edge of the hill?

Do you know that this BOH Tea Shop is a 20 foot overhanging platform which presents spectacular views of the tea garden? This balcony is a favorite spot for tourists and visitors as they immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings while savoring one of BOH's many types of tea. Unfortunately, we couldn't get ourselves a table at the balcony as it was kinda fully occupied that day and we had no choice but to sit inside.

Look at the tiny little green houses down there, kinda blend into the color of nature huh? So greennnn
Pathway up to the Tea Centre, BE CAREFUL!! SLIPPERY PATH AHEAD!! Especially for the elderly, mind your steps as it could get very slippery on rainy days!!
The pathway is just along the hillside, it's kinda steep and narrow, there's actually an alternate path just at the side of this path but you have to walk from the other side of the entrance but that's mostly for motorcar and buses, kinda dangerous though!
So, let's get to the menu shall we??

Full house!
=.=

This is A MUST TRY BANANA CARROT CAKE!!! (RM5.50 /pcs)
My fav, Choc Melt cake <3 (RM 6.50/pcs)

Boh Tea Plantation has a total of 8000 acres planted with tea and it is the largest tea plantation in Southeast Asia. The road journey to the BOH Tea Plantation is quite an adventure itself with its narrow and winding road so do give a honk or two while negotiating a corner to let oncoming traffic know that there's a car coming through, haha.

Gets kind of fun though to honk the horn after a while! hehe

As you drive along, you'll have the sudden urge to put the narrow roads aside and wind down your screen and enjoy the view of green rolling hills, with the neat regular rows of tea plants It's truely breathtaking and refreshing !

Many a times, you may want to stop your car, and just walk in the tea plantation and pick some tea leafs yourself!

BREATHTAKING!!!!

The Sg Palas Tea Centre is open everyday except Monday, from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Besides, factory tours are provided approximately every 30 minutes on their manufacturing process which I'll be going to blog about on the next post, so stay tune!!
